Located in the Plaza del Pilar, it stands on the site of the ancient Roman forum and later Visigothic and Muslim temples.

Its architecture combines Romanesque, Gothic, Mudéjar, and Baroque styles , with its Mudéjar façade and slender Baroque tower being particularly noteworthy. Inside, the alabaster altarpiece and the Tapestry Museum stand out, the latter considered one of the most important in Europe for the quality and age of its pieces.
